i'm not sure when this happened, but apparently my neighborhood has become quite violent.
today jennie IMed me this article about a man who was stabbed outside of a bar on the main drag in MVizzle. incidentally, this is a but a few blocks from where i live.

i had not realized, until i read this rather shocking headline, that this is the third stabbing in nine days. it makes me a little uncomfortable to think about this, but i will say that i now feel justified in staying at home every night and watching excessive amounts of television with elaine from the relative safety of our couch.
for an interesting twist, read the second to last paragraph, which states that "On Feb. 2, a 23-year-old San Jose resident was stabbed at his home after finding a cell phone at the club and made arrangements to give the phone back to its owner."
even the good samaritans are not safe!
in any case, when i read this article i was reminded of the time i went to banghra blowout in washington d.c. and someone got stabbed right behind me on the dance floor, presumably because he was getting too frisky with another man's girl.
sigh. kids these days.

i love you. also after reading about that 2nd stabbing, i had a nightmare that bullets came flying through my room while i was sleeping because my bed is right next to the window.
I probably shouldn't mention this but when we were living there some kid got shot to death at Rengstorff Park. Castro gets really rowdy after hours and Monte Carlo/St. Stephens are probably two of the biggest contributing factors. BTW, WTF is a guy from Hercules doing in Mountain View??
sara why is the social bar not installed on this blog?
you go to morocco for this so you can take a picture of it in an open market while nobody tries to stop it... in fact, bystanders sit down and break open a pack of cigarettes. but this is just as exciting...
also, you @ bhangra freakin' blowout. still awesome.
