the weather people said it would come in this afternoon, but so far it has been really calm where i live, much to my chagrin. i've never been excited for a storm, but for some reason, i'm really stoked for this one. they say it will be the biggest storm in a decade! it sounds biblical.today at work, i kept telling tina that i couldn't wait for the rain to come pouring down so that no one could drive in to the office and we'd all have to work from home -- like that one time school flooded.
in all of my years in the palo alto unified school district, the only time we ever had school canceled due to weather it was because of massive flooding. when my carpool pulled up to the middle school, there were dudes standing in those orange ponchos telling all the parents that school was closed. all the parents were like "F**K!" and all the kids were like "F**K yeah!" (i'm not sure the other kids used the explitive, but i'm pretty sure i did.) if this happens tomorrow, i imagine that my reaction will be much the same.
